Today we walk to the hospital again to get my blood draw.  I'm barely eating enough to keep my energy for sitting around, ley alone the walk.  Yesterday Betty called and asked them to do something to control my blood pressure so they doubled the dose of my beta blocker and it worked right away.  They said the anti rejection med can cause a rise in blood pressure.  The home health nurse, Jim, came by and he seamed very experienced.  He will be draw my blood every other day.

God Bless
Scott

  1. Scott, I haven't written in some time now, but I wanted you to know that I have read your posts (and Betty's) every day. I entered the hospital May 8th and began induction therapy May 9. Having survived the 7 poisoning days, I await the results from my bone marrow test to see what the next step for me will be. Step by baby step seems to be the process. I am so glad to see you making progress. You've had a tough road. I will be having a stem cell transplant once my marrow is "clean," so I appreciate hearing your reports. I think you're right about Betty...you are very lucky to have her in your corner, like a boxing trainer fluffing you up for the next round. I, too, am blessed with a nurturing husband of 40 years. This would be a terrifying journey alone. Take care and keep healing.

    1. Hi Sherry - it's Betty. Hang in there. I'll say a prayer for your BM results. You are typing so that is a good sign that you are feeling ok. I have to tell you after Scott got clean and we were allowed home for 3 weeks, he was so clean he had better blood counts than we had ever seen. he was making his own blood!!! It was amazing. Please continue to let us know your progress. Crap disease this. keep up your strength, find that balance of nutrition and light exercise to stay in the best shape possible for the next round. Godspeed.
