Betty and I went to Chicago yesterday, I was getting labs, a bone marrow biopsy, and an appointment with the good doctor Frankfurt.  All went well, the drive down to Chicago was in the rain.  My platelets to a slight bump up to 90000, and my other counts were normal or near normal.  We met with Ed and Jessica and had breakfast with them (thanks again).  Ed and I compare notes, we have very similar disease and somewhat different treatments and we both have Dr. Frankfurt.  We both had an appointment with Dr. Frankfurt and we were both getting the bone marrow biopsy.  We're praying for you Ed.

So, there was signs of graft vs host in my mouth.  We are going to try a steroid mouth rinse instead of taking steroids through my whole system.  I didn't get a direct answer on the chelation drug, if I could start taking it again.  My liver looked better so I'm thinking take the exjade, two more months and I could be done with it.  The medication for the bone marrow biopsy hit me hard, I only really felt pain when she was freezing the area, this was the first time there was no sharp pain from the procedure.  Good job to Jenny.  I slept most of the way home, Betty drove through a terrible snow storm.  It usually takes about 3 1/2 hours to get home, we left at 3:30 and got home around 10:30.  Once the drugs wore off I had plenty of pain in my back hip area.  I don't think wearing my gun belt was going to help so I took a sick day today.  I'll see how it is tomorrow, but I'm going to work no matter what, I don't have many sick days left.  She would not let me drive at all.  I will post the bone marrow and Iron results here as I get them.  I think Monday I will get a preliminary on the marrow and the ferritin will be done by then.

God Bless,
Scott
