Day + 2 is starting out good. Still feeling pretty good. I know it's not going to stay that way but I will take it one day at a time. Yesterday I was out of my room walking the exciting halls of floor 15, I returned to the room and Betty said I'm getting more chemo. My heart sank, I was confused, then the nurse explained it was a chemo drug used to keep what's left of my old immune system from attacking the donor cells. They told me about this but I forgot that is a chemo type drug. Scarred the hell out of me! I'm hopeful that my counts will bottom out early next week, and I will see my counts start to come back in a week after that. That will mean that the donor cells are grafting and producing. They warned me it can take longer and not to worry if it does, it varies from person to person. I just want to get out of the hospital, away from the smell of alcohol wipes and cleaners, and being woke up four times a night. I really hate the smells of plastic, alcohol, even the linens. It's all clean, just past my tolerance.

i understand where you are coming from...when a guy's name is 'dirt' it's got to be really hard to have to stay sooo clean! :) blessings and love, candy
ReplyDeleteYou sound like you are doing very well. Take it easy and it will be over soon. Know what you mean about the smells. When we left, the first whiff of fresh air and car exhaust was incredible.

"Dirt" when a guys name is DIRT....????? now who named you dirt. Whom every named you dirt needs to have an enema with the three H's High,Hot and a Hell of alot :-) now I do not see you as dirt instead you SHINE on the TOP and that is HOLY. IN the Catholic community on Holy Cards saints are pictured with a glow :-) Lets see Scott as a Saint with a glow ?? ...well maybe that would work. Only Betty can answer that.
Ann and the Hansons are in Denmark attending the CITY WIDE thrift SALE and per there call stated they are having fun.
