Friday March 18th - slow and steady

A little drama last night. Scott got up to go to the bathroom, which he does a couple times a night...I asked him if he needed help, and he was fine. I fell back asleep and the next thing I know the nurse and the tech are running past me to the bathroom. One of Scott's lines was "off" and blood was coming out (dripping not gushing) so he pulled the rip cord. Boy were they on it. Anyway, the nurse just put a new cap on and it was fine.

All we know right now is that Scott' WBC is up to 1.1 from .6. YAY. We will get the ret of the numbers shortly. Scott is sleeping hard, lots of dreams. He asked for oxygen this morning. His blood oxygen is ok, but he feels almost like he has apnea. I'm sure it is from all that mucoscitis in his lungs. He threw up a couple times yesterday, and that hurt. He is trying not to cough real hard because that is what brought it on. He got a bloody nose in his sleep, so we are thinking his platelets are low and he will need some today.

His plan is to cut the morphine in half again today. He has not pushed the booster button in about 36 hours now, so the pain is better. He feels sick though. Said it was pretty bad. Temps were 100.2-100.7 yesterday but overnight have dropped to the 99.?'s so that is good.

So lots of little things, thank GOD no heart attack or pneumonia.

I'm giving blood this afternoon here in the hospital on the third floor. My sister is going to try too, although she has not in years. Overdid it in college and gets a little woozy thinking about it.

Happy Friday All. Today's prayer is that Scott continues to heal without any further complications, and we get discharged on Monday. AMEN!!

Platelets are at 21000, kinda holding thier own, red blood os 8.0 getting two unit today, white is at 1.1 and neuts. are.5  Being at .5 for neuts means I have an immune system, although diminished.
I wish I felt as good asmy numbers look, but that will come.

God Bless,
Scott
