Blood results.
Today I got my results from my blood draws. I'm still very low on platelets, 60.000. I should be at 150,00 for normal low. My red and white counts are slightly low, nothing to alarming. My liver profile improved, but the levels are still on the high side. I feel good, I have a cough, I had that since the transplant. Sometimes it gets worse, sometimes it gets better. My eyes continue to do well. All in all very few issues considering the amount of poison (chemo) I received.
Retiring was a wise decision, I feel much better since and have not had any major health issues since. I went ice fishing with a friend and former co-worker and he started talking about work and I started to feel stressed just hearing about some of the things that the patrol officers have to do. It's getting to be less about protecting and serving and more about jumping through hoops to keep your job.
Betty and I have been hiking, skiing, and snowshoeing when it's not too cold to do so. I have been working in the lab (workshop) redoing an ATV that I bought. It didn't run and I have basically rebuilt it from the ground up. I really enjoy working on things and fixing them. I even rode the snowmobile once or twice. Losing all that weight has really helped my back and I can handle the bumps of snowmobiling better. I am just a few days short of my two year anniversary, my new birthday. I can't believe its been two years since my transplant. Life is Good!
God Bless,
Scott
Hey Scott, I haven't been out to read your blog for a while. This is a very uplifting post. I'm so happy to hear you talk about doing all the normal things that make life a joy. Carry on with grace! Say hi to my friend, Betty.
