Dr. Appointment in Green Bay

I saw Dr. Tasahldar today. He retested my bloodwork and some of my liver enzymes improved. He said it is possible I passed a gallstone, but he said if it acts up again it has to come out. He retested my ferritin (iron) and it was in the 2600 range. Much better than the 6000 range it read on Wednesday. He said he gallbladder issue must have caused a false reading. He is still very concerned and will be talking to Dr. Frankfurt in Chicago about starting me back up on Exjade, my chelation med to rid me of excess iron. He said it will be a balancing act with my other meds, their effect on my liver, and the fact the high iron is bad for my liver and other organs. I emailed Doctor Frankfurt with the info and asked once again to be put back on full duty and she said "YES" :))) So I sent her the copy of the back to work form and our fax number. I hope tomorrow we get it at work and Wednesday, Praise God, I will be back on patrol:))) Happy Happy Lastly she wants me to see a dermatologist to see if we can get a definite answer on the itching, graft vs Host or other? God Bless, Scott

  1. Glad to hear the stone seems to have passed.

One step closer to being back on Patrol!

Itching and rashes can definitely be mild GVHD.

There are hydro-cortisone creams and such that you can use which seem to help but I personally don't like how they feel.

Ask your doctor of course but I would recommend an unscented skin moisturizer.

    It has helped me.

Nice to see the pictures. You seem to be doing really well.

Keep positive and things will turn out great.
